Re: Collector outlet hole size for heat forming

Hey BWkoi, Apologies for my late reply. It's good that you found that data. I was going to look at the Collector building video, Marc says you need to drill a 75mm hole for the 110mm transit here (10m55s): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6Lywn8fAgc&t=10m50s 73mm should also be fine. It's not that p...

Re: Venturi

Hi,

It could perhaps be done but your flow rate will suffer enormously. I don't know if that would be a good trade-off to make.
Do you really think an Airlift as it is would not provide sufficient aeration?

Hey Frank,

Looks very impressive! Could you share some more details on your filter? What techniques have you used exactly?

Re: New pond powered with airlift

It appears that the vast majority of the pond construction I see has filtration based on several baffles, sieves and the drum (drums are great). There seems to be a large construction component here as well as cost. Has anyone looked into bubble bead filtration? I am planning on using a system like...

Re: Introduction to the Crielsieve, a revolutionary pre-filt

Hi Rich, apologies for my late reply. I'll reply to specific parts of your post to avoid confusion. Hello, The filters I am talking about are specifically from AST Filters. They are bubble bead filters, meaning they run using air to backwash the media and discharge sludge. Some models discharge slud...

Re: Introduction to the Crielsieve, a revolutionary pre-filt

Hey Rich, Thank you for your comment. Are you talking about the small perfect round bead filters or do you mean filter media such as K2? By that I mean the plastic wheel shaped filter media which are designed to maximise surface area for each piece. I have a lot to say about this but I will await yo...

Re: Airlift pump for irregation

Hello! I'm sorry to say that it will be absolutely impossible. 10 meters is about a hundred times too much discharge head. You would need an 'Airlift staircase' each pumping 10cm higher to achieve this. And that would mean using 100 Airlifts. At horrible efficiency levels. I'm afraid that the ground...

Nice deal! I hope they are good quality, but they should be at that price point. Looking forward to your build.

Re: Matching airlift flows

Very interesting. After seeing the drawing I understand.
For aquaphonics this could work, I don't immediately see a problem. My suggestion would be to test it if you can, I am quite curious to see what would happen.

Re: Building an air-lift with the height larger than depth?

Hello and welcome, I hate to say it but it's not possible the way you designed this system. We are talking about a discharge head of over 1,5 meters. If you want a yield of 9000 liters the maximum discharge head would probably be around 10 centimeters if you are lucky. The system has to be level, ev...

Hello Rich, First of all, I am impressed with your contributions and ideas. Nice images and videos as well! Trying new things important and it's how this system started out in the pond application. I would like to type a detailed big reply but I'm having issues reaching the site on my pc. So for now...
