Re: Airlift without 90 degree bow

With a 90 the water bends but all the waters momentum is in one direction. Air is exited on the way. Without the 90 movement of exiting water and air will be in 180 degrees fighting to exit out the top and through a pipe. Energy of the mass of waters momentum is waisted.

Re: Airlift outlet depth

For good efficiency the airlift manifold needs 160 to 180 cm riser pipe length and submersion. In your diagram the riser tube from the manifold is short and submersion is wasted on the very long vents.

Re: Airlift outlet depth

Raise the airlift output to 2 cm below the surface. Use double vent pipes to degass and use the discharge pipes shown. Use a tee and vent where pipe goes down. Since you provided vent pipes at where the pipe goes down there will be no airlock and it will function

After much searching I found this data in koivrienden web site For a throughput of 32 mm, predrilling: 15 to 19 mm. For a throughput of 40 mm, predrilling: 1 9 mm. For a throughput of 50 mm, pre-drill: 25 to 30 mm. For a throughput of 63 mm, predrilling: 37 to 40 mm. For a throughput of 75 mm, predr...

No collector direct bury airlift

How many people are not using a collector or deep well and just connect both ends of the airlift to pipe and bury to get the correct depth? Are they making the air holes bigger to eliminate the possibility of plugging?

Air lift diffuser hole size

When I use air stones they plug with mineral deposits and have to be cleaned on a regular basis. Are mineral deposits a problem plugging the holes in a compression chamber airlift using .5 mm to 1 mm holes? I am told that the deposits are the result of a reaction that occurs where the water and air ...
