Horizontal distance From Pond

Post by Calus Bling »

Hi Everyone

I am making a pond right now and am planning to use the airlift as seen in the video I have seen on your site. My filters are going to be water level but set back from the pond. Am I going to experience much loss of water volume that the airlift can produce with a roughly 3 meter horizontal run with one 45 degree bend in the pipe ? IF the loss is very small I do not mind however If I am costing myself a lot of volume I may have to rethink it. Output will end up roughly ten cm under the water level.

Thanks for your Help

Output height (above water level) is your worst enemy which will really limit efficiency. But you have that covered.
The distance from the Airlift to the pond is not ideal as you already mentioned. I will check with Marc as he has more experience with this.

3 meters is not a problem if the line has an upward slope of 1cm minimum

3 cm over the 3 meters then? So 1 cm per meter as an average? Thanks for your reply. I am going to post a diagram soon as I design it because I am unsure the best way to run it into the pond yet.

1 cm over the 3 meters is sufficient

If it goes up to the pond it's good

This for the discharge of air bubbles

Bonjour!
ne pas oublier un regard pour les cas de bourrage sous ces faibles pentes.
je doublerai la dose pour plus de surreté ou du moins ferai un décroché à la fin pour activer la chute des gros morceaux

Hey!
do not forget a look for stuffing cases under these slight slopes.

I will double the dose for more safety or at least one off the end to activate the fall of the larger pieces

(sorry for my english, i'm french and don't know the technical terms)
