good day, i am very much interested in the airlift system and planning on doing one right now, however i have learned that i need to have at least a pipe which is 3 inches in diameter and 6 feet in length, i was wondering if there is a formula to calculate the amount of water flowing.

GIVEN:
The pipes opening in diameter.
Pipes length underwater.
Liters of air being provided by the pump.
And many other factors.

If there is a chart showing the behavior of this factors with one another is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

We only work with 110mm rising pipes and larger. So that's at least 4,33 inches. We use Airlifts at roughly 5 feet or 5,5 feet in length depending on the application (145cm or 170cm).
We do not use a formula but a number of configurations have been tested and documented. These test results are used as guidelines.

We have a chart on the site which pretty much answers your questions.
Pipe diameter and length, water flow and power consumption are all compared.
We will do more tests this summer to have an updated version with more different air pumps as well.
